A mobile app tackling gender equality within the corporate world and allowing disgruntled women to anonymously tell their stories of gender discrimination in the workplace has hit cyberspace.
This is one of the innovative ideas pitched by delegates at the Brightest Young Minds summit, which came to an end yesterday.
The summit brought together 100 change-makers aged between 20 and 32 from 10 African countries.
The innovative thinkers had less than 24 hours to choose two social, economic and or cultural challenges from a list of 20 problems, and develop solutions for them.
Bame Modungwa, 24, from Botswana, and her teammates targeted the lack of equal access to employment opportunities for women in the corporate environment. “Gender equality resonated with the majority of the group and I think the world is moving towards a place where women will no longer be marginalised in any kind of space,” Modungwa said.
The data collected from the app could also be presented to the companies on how they can improve their environment for women.
